The Barnstormer Bombers entered the Iowa USSSA 10u Major State Tournament following a successful regular season. Players and coaches put in a lot of hard work throughout the season in order to compete their best every weekend. The drive, work ethic, and coachability of all players helped as the team prepared all season long.
The entire team contributed to winning the State Championship. Pitchers brought their best on championship Sunday, hitting spots and minimizing walks. Defense played clean and supported their pitchers tremendously well throughout the entire tournament. At the plate, the Bombers hit .389 for the tournament.
A loss on Saturday put the Bombers in the situation to win or go home for the remainder of play. On Sunday morning, the coaching staff let the boys know that it was up to them to go out and shock the world. The coaches put it on the boys to dig deep and win it all. The grit, determination, and team play on Sunday was unmatched throughout the year. The Bombers won 2 hard fought games leading to the championship game, and entered the championship playing great baseball. The championship game ended in 4 innings as the Bombers won 16-7 against the Cedar Rapids Reds Black team.
The Barnstormer Baseball Club is extremely proud of this group of players and coaches for all of their hard work and determination representing the club with a finish that all of these young players will remember for years to come!
